My husband and I knew that we wanted more than just a photographer for our wedding day -- we wanted someone who could find the magic in the little candid moments and capture them for us. We wanted to remember the faces and joy of our loved ones and be able to revisit the powerful emotions we felt as we exchanged vows and celebrated our union. Molly exceeded every expectation we had. She made everyone feel comfortable, and I will always appreciate that she had my husband and I take a few quiet moments to ourselves after the ceremony as she shot from a distance. Molly truly understands what it means to capture the spirit of a day, and we will always treasure the images we have because of her!
P.S. I loved her so much that my husband asked if she would be a "surprise" part of our first anniversary celebration. Of course she said yes.

Molly is more than an artist. When I first hired Molly, I’d known her rather briefly through a mutual friend, and I simply wanted some professional pictures of my family of horses and dog at the time. But when she showed up, I felt an instant connection, and I became her forever friend and fan because of how authentic and grounded she was, and how those qualities showed up in her work. Molly notices the character of her subject, the essence of the moment, the joy, the tenderness, all of the emotion that we want captured for posterity… and she delivers it on “film.” Her photographs are keepsakes. They are works of art. They live, almost so that you can smell the grass, you can hear the sounds, you relive the moment. She used to use the phrase, “capturing the essence” for her work. It’s what she does, and her work is exquisite. And one other thing. You feel good when you’re with her. That’s the character of someone you want to invite into your life for the important moments. If you’re lucky enough to get her, you’ll be forever glad you made that connection and that you have that work of art.
My husband and I could not have asked for a better photography experience. Our wedding was about family and friends, and Molly made that happen in the pictures. She was calm and patient while re-arranging our large and chaotic families for group photos. She even managed to entice some smiles from the shy toddlers running around. Our favorite pictures from our wedding and reception are the candid shots she got of people we love during the speeches, dinner, and dancing. We could not have been more thrilled by the pictures, and Molly was a joy to work with the entire night.

Who says you can't judge a book by its cover? Molly Peterson shot the cover for my first book--which went on to become a New York Times bestseller. Next, I hired her to photograph the interior of my follow-up, a full color cookbook. Her amazing work landed us on the short list for the Independent Cookbook of the Year award. Results like these speak for themselves. If you're lucky enough to hire Molly, don't hesitate!

We chose Molly’s photography for a house on our farm because it illustrates the tranquility and authenticity of a rural life with a sophisticated touch. Her photographs added so much individuality to our design. Molly was incredibly responsive and a pleasure to work with. We were on quite a tight deadline and she made the process seamless. We are so happy with the photography and hope to use more in future projects!
Molly’s photos appear to hang in time — they are a unique moment of connection, of recognition, between photographer and subject. It is as if they are sharing a secret with each other… and consequently, with the viewer. Molly Peterson’s sensitive camera finds the unique beauty and personality of her subjects, be they human or animal. She captures her subjects both as they are and as they would wish to be seen, in the same photo......Her eye, her skill, her taste, her patience to wait for the right moment, and to connect....
